Benefits of the Belt Squat

Recently we made a decision to purchase some extra equipment. Knowing the clientele that we work with, we ultimately wanted to bring in some extra benefit for those clients that would focus on specific issues. Believe it or not, not everyone wants to perform a traditional squat (We’re as shocked as you are….). Now, there might be a few reasons that someone doesn’t want to squat or lacks the physical ability to do so. There could be pre-existing issues dealing with their spine and the inability to handle spinal compression. Thus enter the belt squat. This thing is as impressive in action as it is to behold. There is absolutely no spinal compression. Zero, zilch, nada. The client is able to complete the movement without any fear of spinal issues or having weight come crashing down on them, thus making the belt squat an integral piece that we can add to someone’s arsenal. Squats, box squats, stiff leg deadlifts, thrusters, you name it you can do it. We’ve only had it for a few weeks, but it has already found a home in a number of clients programs.
