This was my 6th week interning at The Rack Athletic Performance Center. Throughout this week Ed and I focused on detailed work revolving around everything regarding the shoulder. I learned about the movement and function of the shoulder in comparison to the other joints of the body. We also specifically detailed what muscles are involved and their roles in the planes of motion. Additionally, I was taught how to use that information applicably, learning shoulder exercises that specifically target each of these individual muscles. This will be beneficial in any form of training or rehabilitation with a client.
In the upcoming weeks, we will be going into more detailed work with other important joints that are crucial to training such as the hip. On Friday of this past week I also observed the importance of making connections with people of any professional background in this field. This serves as a useful way to reach out and grow for expansion.
